For over 50 years, Indmar has been a driving force in the inboard marine industry — blending innovation, craftsmanship, and performance. As the world’s largest privately-held manufacturer of gasoline-powered inboard marine engines, Indmar continually pushes boundaries, pioneering technologies that elevate the sport and propel the industry forward.
The Challenges
Indmar’s customer service team wanted to maximize the peak boating season by innovating their automation and adding advanced features to improve their dealers’ online experience.
They faced two major challenges:
1. Online Dealer Portal
- The Infor Mongoose Platform was efficient for building SyteLine ERP, but not ideal for creating user-friendly eCommerce and warranty management systems.
- The platform was difficult to maintain and customize.
- Parts and engine searches were slow and complex due to a vast database of nearly 20 million records.
2. Infor Cloud Industrial (SyteLine) ERP Software
- The API did not function as documented (notably with pagination issues).
- Many advanced features required experienced programmers to implement.
- The ERP needed to integrate seamlessly with the new online dealer portal.
