Today, Variux officially publishes Okta SSO for Acumatica right on the Acumatica Marketplace. This is one of our integrated solutions to extend Acumatica to meet your unique business needs, here specifically the Single Sign-On authentication method.
To enhance your enterprise security and simplify the sign-in process for your personnel, we implemented the Single Sign-On (SSO) extension for the Acumatica Cloud-ERP Platform. By enabling our Acumatica SSO plugin, users can sign in (no need to sign-up) and access your Acumatica system through a reputed security provider used for authentication, which is Okta. With our extension, Okta is integrated with Acumatica ERP as an IdP that provides SSO to external applications. Okta also supports MFA prompts to improve your ERP security.
To describe how the Okta SSO for Acumatica work concisely:
1. The user requests access to your Acumatica ERP.
2. Acumatica ERP delegates the user authentication and redirects the user to Okta for authentication. The application requests a token from Okta SSO for Acumatica to establish the user session.
3. Acting as the IdP, our Okta SSO for Acumatica uses Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and SSO credentials to authenticate the user. Okta verifies the user, and if successful, prompts the user to grant access to the application.
4. If the user grants access, our Okta SSO for Acumatica generates an ID token containing the user identity information the application can access.
5. Okta SSO for Acumatica returns the authenticated user to the application.
